I think it’s important to think about causes and effects in our day-to-day life. If we see someone being successful, we should know that there is a cause for this. Someone being successful is an effect. There was something that caused that success in the past. They may have practiced Dana, Sila, and Bhavana.
If we do a good deed, we should know that this is a cause and there will be an effect in the future.
If one contemplates like this, they won’t be jealous of anyone. It’s good to think in terms of causes and effects.
Correct. we are heir to our actions and the owners of our karma. Its also a great way to prevent hatred and jealousy, as well as to turn your life circumstances into a productive motivator.
I agree. I also like thinking in terms of cause and effect, this-that conditionality, and dependent origination. It applies to our own minds and the minds of others. In SN 12, the Buddha repeatedly taught that we should apply our minds to dependent origination, to really contemplate and investigate it.
