This is a new static site version of the English translations on SuttaCentral. Almost pure HTML and CSS.
Just replace .net with .express and most urls (for English translations and Pali root texts) load almost instantly.

Looks good. What framework was used.. or just js and html?
Is it github hosted? or hosted on the suttacentral server?
Hint: If you host on github pages, you can use cloudflare to cache the pages. Then you won’t need to worry about quotas since cloudflare buffers the page hits. I think that’s how it works. I do that with my americanmonk website on github and cloudflare.
It’s pure static html pages with css. Just a pinch of js, currently smaller than the css file.
Look at the bottom of the pages for the repos.
It’s not an official SC project. It’s not mine, I just learned about it from the SC forum.
ETA: I’m not sure how the static pages are built. I’m guessing they are using some kind of framework.
hey
i made this site. actually, im still making it. feel free to let me know of any bugs or suggested improvements ![]()
maybe you can change some of the translation words. ![]()
The SEO on sutta central express will always be inferior to sutta central’s main site and will never bubble up. Classical Theravada shows up actually, if you google it.
Probably better to decide on a new name. ask ai to pick one.
I wouldn’t be so sure. The .net site is built like a web app and is really slow. Both things that are bad for SEO and fixed by .express. And I don’t think url names have much to do with SEO any more. But I could be wrong!
| Indicator | Description | Status |
|---|---|---|
| URL | heavy indicator | |
| Sutta Central | so heavily SEO optimized | |
| SCexpress.org | available | |
| SClite.org | taken | |
| Suttalite.org | available | |
| sclite.net | available |
Note: used our inline custom ai to reformat in table:: (cool).
We now stopped using free grok ai which was too slow and changed to the paid version. But don’t worry.. so far only $0.06 .
I believe the whole thing is open source so you could fork your own version and use whatever url you like. I don’t think the site owner really cares about seo that much, but that’s just a guess.
