Religion or Philosophy

Is Buddhism a religion or philosophy?

Religion: the belief in and worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a God or gods.

Philosophy: the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline.

It’s generally categorized as a non-theistic religion in that it rejects the notion of a creator god, but it has many supernatural elements, e.g., kamma, rebirth, etc. Belief in those supernatural components is also considered important for having mundane Right View.
