I watched this video a long time ago

Now I finally know how to pay attention to the breath at the touching point without tensing my head or controlling my breath. Looking back, the advice from the video makes so much sense to me now.

Focusing on the breath at the touching point is so important for concentration. I think it’s the reason why it’s possible to attain Jhana at Pa Auk but not at non-Buddhist meditation centers that teaches Anapana without emphasizing touching point.

For the longest time, I was stuck on how to breathe naturally but now I know how. I just need to let go of my obsession with not controlling my breath. I’m automatically breathing in my day to day life. Once I was able to breathe naturally without controlling my breath, the tension went away and the touching point advice made sense. If we don’t focus on the breath at touching point, our mind will wander to different touching points and our mind will also wander in the interval between the out breath and in breath so the touching point is important. The touching point is where the breath touches. We will know our touching point when we feel the breath.
