Could I request monks to bestow me X name when I ordain?
I quite fancy the name Anattādassana as it is axiomatically related to Anattā.
It can be possible that the teacher will let you choose a name, while some traditions (like Myanmar) usually rely on the day of the week you were born to choose the first letters (I don’t know the system). You would have to check with the teacher. I think most teachers won’t mind you choosing an inspirational name, but it is ultimately up to them. I have an article on “Where to ordain”. Best to read that carefully. The ability to name yourself would not really be a great deciding factor.
