Can anyone tell me what are the things written in tripitak about taxsila
Only jivka part is related to taxila as I know …
But u can search on access to insight or any other suttapitaka online website
A number of Jataka commentaries mention Taxila…
P.s. I edited your title from Tripitaka (the Sanskrit) to Tipitaka (Pali).
There is a nice story (that I just read because of this question) that mentions takkasīla . It is in pācittiya #2 omasavādasikkhāpadaṃ.
But here it mentions a story of the past with a bull pulling 100 carts. The Brahmin bet his friend his bull could pull 100 carts. It could but since he called the bull a derogatory name during the process the bull didn’t move an inch. Because of that he lost 100,000 coins. The bull told him to bet him double the amount for a second and speak to him nicely and the bull moved that time. He got his money back plus a gain. The moral is not to insult others. It is an offence to do so.
A nice little story. Never the less, it was a “story of the past”.
Thanks Baksubhuti, I found the Jataka and I really liked its moral lesson.
I was watching Thai angulimala movie…very nice movie…and his childhood is depicted in taxila
