I ordained as a novice

Just a short post to follow up on my previous post.

I have ordained as a novice (since I am 18) at a Shwegyin Nikaya pariyatti monastery in Burma. Its been about 3 days now and I have been enjoying my time so far. For how long I plan to stay ordained; I am not sure. The monastery has bookshelves everywhere and I have found that the contents are very much worth reading and found delight in doing so. But because I am only a putthujjana, I am still held by feelings to return to laylife after a week of oridination, sometimes these feelings rise and sometimes do not.

And to address concerns regarding Money by Bhante Subhuti, since Shwegyin Nikaya is the stricter one of the Nikayas here, I believe there won’t be a problem regarding the usage of money. I have seen money donated to the monastery through the Sayadaw (abbot) but he did not personally handle it. Therefore, I am assuming there is some typoe of kappiya system here as there are many kappiyas in this monastery.

Before you leave Myanmar, besides paying respect to Swedagon Pagoda, please visit Varanasi Monastery in Mingaladone and Mahavihara monastery. There you can see and experience proper monasteries that I have recommended to you.

Thank you for your advise Bhante, I am planning to remain in Myanmar so I believe I will have the chance to travel around the country and visit those places.

Also are these pariyatti monasteries or patipatti?

I really find it hard to believe you are reading my posts even when you thank me. You had asked for pariyatti monasteries and I replied with them.

Yes I read them and I looked them up too. I was making sure.
