How do Monks Practice Dana?

Do Monks have opportunities to practice Dana like lay people? Lay people may offer monasteries, robes, huts, or alms. What kind of Dana can Monks do that is better than what lay people do? Do they just focus mostly on virtue and mediation? Monks can give the gift of Dhamma and share their knowledge of the Dhamma with others. I think even if a monk doesn’t have any followers to share his knowledge with, he can still make a lot of merits from his own virtue and doing good things for the Sangha. They can also make a lot of merit from listening, studying, and practicing the Dhamma. If they succeed in meditation, they could be reborn in the Brahma realm or attain Enlightenment. So, a monk’s life is still better than a lay person’s. A lay person also has a lot of duties and attachments so they can’t always make merit. A monk can make merit everyday from the moment he wakes up to the moment he sleeps by practicing the Dhamma.
