How do monks keep from giving in to sex while giving in to money?

Hi

I have a question, please. Apparently, most monks give in to the lust of possessing money. However, it seems to me that for a man, sexual lust is at least as great as the lust for money. So how do monks give in to the lust for money, without giving in to the lust for sex (masturbation, intercourse) - which is nonetheless very strong?

Thank you in advance,

May all beings put an end to mental impurities

Well having sex is a parajika so the monks are immediately expelled from the Sangha.
Even mastubation means undergoing a complicated rehabilitation process.

Using money can be expiated by confession…

Yup. However, one correction is needed. Nissaggiya is a pācittiya offense, it also is a special class and the items need to be forfeited. The items bought by using money (like the monk’s own money) are never allowable for him or any other monk ever again. That is the big danger and demerit of giving monks money.
