Like in the USA where for decades the Gideons placed free Bibles in hotels organisations in Thailand put Buddhist books.
The one I saw a few years back was a Mahayana one from a Japanese organisation and had little relation to Dhamma.
I stayed at the airport hotel in Bangkok 2 days ago and the one they had looked more promising. Written by a woman with over 30 years teaching vipassana so it said.

How about for those free distribution Buddhist books which cannot be circulated or no one wants anymore, we put in our local hotels?

One only needs a 10 page booklet. The dhammas can be very deep and profound with just a little. The Best of The Dhammapada would be a good candidate. I just made that title up. I doubt it exists or if a “best” collection could be decided on. However, it is a good idea. There are several that could count. I bet a list of 20-or 30 verses could be collected and get a consensus.
A quick google seems to show that a booklet like I’m suggesting does not exist or is easy to find. “Dhammapada Selections” did find something even with that title. I think this could be reduced to 25 pages.
