I saw some pages and groups which I assumed to be related to this forum come up but they have now disappeared.

I don’t know which they are, but perhaps that is good, especially in the beginning stages.
Most groups in English will be filled with opposition, it is best to invite people personally. However, anyone is allowed to join.
