Dhutaṅgas

Can we practice the Dhutaṅgas at Pa Auk? When I ordain in the future, I want to practice the rukkhamūla (remaining beneath a tree), pattapiṇḍika (everything within the bowl), piṇḍapāta (collection by means of one’s bowl), tecīvarika (three robes), paṃsukūla (abandoned robes), āraññika (remaining in the forest), and nesajjika (renouncing the lying posture) dhutaṅgas, and more.

You will not be able to go for alms when you are a new monk. The village is also very far from Pa-Auk in Pyin Oo Lwin. You can do the one meal, 1 bowl, 3 robes, pāṃsukūla, being in a forest, and sitting posture. You can start with those. As for sitting under a tree, nothing is stopping you from trying it out now  It is not as fun as you might think. You can also try sitting instead of lying down. Nothing is stopping you from doing those two dhutaṅgāni as a lay person.
