May the Triple Gem bless all of you!
I have OCD, Secondary Depression and Asperger’s syndrome and I’m interested in practicing meditation. Is it safe to practice without a guide, relying on books, Dhamma sermons’ instructions etc or do I definitely need a guide given my unique situation?

You will need to speak with your psychiatrist and ask him/her if it is appropriate. You should discuss different methods and the positive and potential negative effects it might have on you. You can discuss with your professional and try it out and report how it has affected you. Although some modern teachers mix psychology with Buddhism, this is not the realm of Buddhist Teachers unless they are certified for your special psychiatric conditions.
Triple Gem bless you Bhantē! I asked my psychiatrist and she replied that I need guidance to meditate. But I am currently unable to access a guide, even if I’m from Sri Lanka.
You can find a meditation teacher quite easily in Sri Lanka.
Go to any teacher and bring a note from your psychiatrist explaining your condition and that says that she allows meditation and she will be monitoring you closely. The note should also say that she will take responsibility if something goes wrong. If so, there should be very few obstacles to finding a teacher.
