Everything is written after budha Parinirvana. The writer who write the kalamasutta is trying to teach you something the story start from when Buddh goes to land of the Kosalans together with a large Saṅgha of mendicants when he arrived at a town of the Kālāmas named Kesamutta
So read it and understand it from start to end when i read that i also not able to understand what buddha trying to say their but when you read it more then one time i am sure you will understand thankyou
