Can I leave my bank accounts empty but not cancel them?
-
Before becoming a monk, can I convert all my money into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and give the access key to my wallet to a family member? To facilitate a restart in case of disrobing.
As long as the money doesn’t belong to you anymore, I think it should be okay. From what you mentioned about converting money into Bitcoin and giving an access key to your family, it’s like leaving behind treasures in a treasure chest and giving the key to your family members. When you leave the household life, it has nothing to do with you anymore. That’s how I see it at least.
Are you considering to become a monk? If so, that’s good. I wish you all the best.
I’m considering going on a Pa Auk retreat to learn their meditation system. But I might decide to become a monk while I’m there.
Wonderful. You can ask your questions to the teachers there.
Sadhu sadhu sadhu …may u advance in your journey…
I’d love to respond, but I cannot take the liability of what I would recommend.
I basically just hand over my bank account to my parents. They need it to maintain life insurance they bought in my name. So I just don’t have access to it and don’t regard it as mine.
Not to make a backup to avoid the temptation to disrobe in the future?
I’ve heard that before.
Are your parents allowed to use it if they want?
Of course, it’s their properties already.
