Access Concentration and elements

As far as I understand there is access concentration for each Jhāna, and each access concertation has the Jhāna factors present for each Jhāna just in a weak form. Would it then be possible for someone who is practicing insight meditation by way of the elements to experience all 4/5 access concentrations?

Hi, what does above mean?

The four elements doesn’t lead to jhana - at most access.

Vism XIV 42. As he makes effort in this way it is not long before concentration arises in him, which is reinforced by understanding that illuminates the classification of
the elements, and which is only access and does not reach absorption because it has states with individual essences as its object

Yes I’m aware, but I was wondering what access is achieved whilst doing it? Is it just the 1st Jhana access or can the access of all 4/5 be achieved?

Please see above.

What do you mean by 4/5?
Are you talking about the rupa jhanas?

Before anyone can begin to develop the second jhana they must have mastery of the first jhana.

Even if someone was successful with attaining access concentration with the elements as object there is no question of them going on to attain even a moment of first jhana - let alone mastery of it.

Each Jhana has its own corresponding access concentration, where the Jhana factors particular to each Jhana are present but in a weak form. During meditation on the elements access concentration can be achieved, so is this access concentration only that with the factors of the 1st Jhana or can the others be achieved is my question.

Only with the first jhana.

Ah I see. I think it should be said that jhana-upacara is only accessible through an appana-vaha kammatthana like kasina, anapanasati etc.
