Is this still happening in today’s time …eg. do bhikkhu still live in homes of lay followers as there are many monestries now .
So that I can think about inviting one bhikkhu
And what kind of care should be taken it bhikkhu is living in your home .
Yes, plenty of them in Singapore. Not enough land for new monasteries. And monk politics (cannot get along living together) might prevent certain people from wanting to live together.
No ladies. Either the monk or the male lay person has to wake up before dawn at least once every 3 days.
Read up the vinaya, learn how to be kapiya and how to offer food.
Bhante can u explain in bit details…or can u suggest me specific vinaya section releted to vassa…
Also I saw two female kappiya in thai monestry both of them are old . Wearing white and coocking for monks…
Right they are not sleeping under same roof …
I will learn about this all and I am thinking that I should invite bhikkhu for vassa at my home …
The reason behind it is to get introduced my parents with Buddhism and to give them opportunity to donate to bhikkus…
